I don’t come to you near as much as I should;
Yet you meet me each and every day in grace and love—making me a new creation.
Even as I stumble over what words to speak;
You comb the depths of my heart and mind—filling me with your good news to proclaim.
Daily I fall prey to sin and focus inwardly on myself;
Nevertheless, you always forgive me and lift my eyes to see the needs of those around me.
Where my life is marked by doubt and despair;
You cleanse it and clothe me with faith and hope in your Resurrected Son, Jesus Christ.
In spite of my endless attempts to gain recognition;
Gather me with all your people to give thanks for your goodness and many blessings shared.
Though I am broken to the world like shards of a pot;
I trust you will put me back together to resemble the beautiful craftsmanship of your hands.
I am who I am because you created me as such;
May my life—all that I say and do—be a sign of your gracious and sustaining presence.
In Jesus’ name, I pray.
